Cahier Africain receives German „Menschenrechts-Filmpreis“

After the Silver Dove at Leipzig, Cahier Africain by Heidi Specogna is awarded German Film Prize for Human Rights (Deutscher Menschenrechts-Filmpreis).  The award ceremony will be on 10 December in Nürnberg. The Film Prize established in 1998 honors outstanding productions on the topic of human rights and, therefore, appreciates the work of designated filmmakers fighting for individual rights. Similarly, it draws the attention to human rights abuses and human rights work and thus encourages social dialogue on that issue.

This week Cahier Africain will start in German cinemas and is going to be screened on Sunday at Film Fest Lünen in a special presentation with a subsequent discussion with director Heidi Specogna.

The film is a co-production of Filmpunkt GmbH and PS Film GmbH as well as ZDF/3Sat (commissioning editor: Katya Mader). Among others, supported by Film- und Medienstiftung NRW.
