2 days after the special screening of THE PORT THAT NEVER WAS at the Tbilisi International Film Festival, Georgia's prime minister Irakli Gharibashvili has announced that the Georgian government will take on 51% of the shares of the port project, which is to be offered in a new tender for development and construction. Before, the Georgian government had always excluded a direct financial involvement. Several politicians said on Georgian media that this announcment has been triggered by the film's showing in Tbilisi and on ARTE.
The film waits for its INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE.
