Stefan Tolz

As a producer, Stefan Tolz has been responsible for more than 30 documentaries, three of which were awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize and two the German Film Prize ‘Lola’. Being a long-time filmmaker himself, his documentaries take on mostly historical or socio-political themes with a very personal and cinematic approach.

In addition to supporting experienced filmmakers and young talents as producer, he has been teaching at international film and media schools and acted as jury member for film funds and festivals. Since 2015, he is the program director of the ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe, an initiative supported by ARD, ZDF, ARTE, DW and EBU to foster film and television professionals in the EU’s Eastern Partnership countries.
