Tonight, the German-French cultural channel ARTE is showing the TV premiere of the TV version of "THE PORT THAT NEVER WAS", Stefan Tolz's long-term observation of Georgia's development in recent years. It began as a project about the construction of a deep-sea port on the Black Sea coast, which was to make Georgia a hub on the Silk Road.
The film developed into a political thriller about the struggle for the political orientation of the small country, in which Russia still plays - or is playing again - a decisive role. The film will be shown in the "Geopolitics" slot and will be available afterwards in the ARTE Mediathek and on the ARTE channel on youtube. The film was edited by Susanne Mertens and Martin Pieper from ZDF/ARTE.
