BEFORE FATHER GETS BACK by Mari Gulbiani will be part of the Competition Programme - Documentary Film at Sarajevo Film Festival 2018 which takes place on 10 - 17 August. Since 1995 the festival shares a special focus on the region of South-East Europe providing international attention for local productions and talent.
In her documentary feature, Gulbiani follows two young girls, Eva und Iman, who she met in a film class in a remote village of Georgia. The girls are growing up within radicalism as some of their close relatives fight for the Islamic State in Syria. After their first cinematic experience in the classroom, the girls start to film their daily lives with a camera trying to cope with a world infested by radical islamization.
